Platelet-rich plasma (PRP):

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy uses injections of a concentration of a patient’s own platelets suspended in a small amount of plasma to accelerate the healing .

PRP injections are prepared by taking patients own blood and running it through a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets( 5 to 10 times more than the untreated blood) These activated platelets are then injected directly into the desired area. This releases growth factors that stimulate tissue repair and regeneration.

PRP has been used in the treatment of several dermatological conditions such as acne scars, alopecia, melasma, hyperpigmentation , skin rejuvenation and tightening and skin ulcers.
